Way of the Devil

Qidian Translations has a lot of controversy flying around right now. But I'm gonna ignore all of the fuss and just read.

Way of the Devil is a promising read, only 16 chapters out, but it has an immersive quality to it that reminds me of Founder of Diabolism. Another great supernatural read. Think the Winchester brothers without the western influence of angels and demons.

Our hero is an ordinary rich layabout until one day he confirms the truth of his world, there are supernatural predators out there and he is defenseless against them. He is a world jumper - an ordinary salary man in his last life, and now he must shape up or die a miserable death. This world is full of monsters. His best friend's entire family is slaughtered in one night and there are no human suspects.

The only cheat he owns is Deep Blue, a code breaker he developed for a video game, that crosses over with him. And it eats a lot of his energy every time he uses it.

I'm expecting quality here, cause the beginning was so bombastic. Fingers crossed. Keep reading.

Gourmet of another world

A five star Michelin chef dies. He is reincarnated into a world of fantasy with battle mages with a unique system encoded in his mind. He owns a restaurant with a white robot in the kitchen and a freeloading black dog at the door. His goal is to become the God of Cooking.

He needs to collect a lot of crystals for that to happen. Crystals are important tools for cultivators and more precious than gold. His food is priced in crystals. Who will willingly pay that? His food is extraordinary and well worth the price. The ingredients are so special that the price is actually a bargain. High ranked demon beasts, impossible to catch in the wild without sustaining fatal injuries. The restaurant provides all his ingredients as long as he finishes his quests in time. His rewards take him small steps closer to leveling up.

Will he win his dream and build a new reality? Or will he falter and fail and surrender all hope and ambition?

Kind of a dull description, but the story is rocking. Mood's a bit off today.
