This delinquent kid is attacked by some hoodlums while he's sleeping by the river. Midway through his retaliatory beating, he's the macho man, hero of manga, no way would some scrawny underlings get the best of him. A body comes floating down the river. Yes, a corpse of an old guy.

The corpse splits open to reveal a baby. Very Momotaro style, except for the peach. The baby starts crying and the delinquent starts trying to smile to make it calm. Being who he is, his smiles are monstrous and the baby takes an unusual liking to him, instead of screaming for help. Note the reaction here. Odd for a human baby.

Cause, of course he's not a human baby. Meet the little prince, Satan's youngest son, who's been sent to Earth to conquer it. Why not Satan himself? Well, in this story, he's a lazy layabout who leaves / delegates all the important work to his kids. And oh my, does he have a lot of kids. Is this a royalty thing or a demon thing? Mind blink.

So, the delinquent goes to his best friend's place with the baby, who is the minion / sidekick / comedian / smart guy. The baby was not left unattended while on earth. He has to grow up on earth and then destroy it. Something wrong with that plan!

The demon nanny is a hot blonde in a frock with huge tits. And hello, romance. But not so easy. There's a female hellion in that delinquent school our hero attends and she's competition for his heart.
Plus, he's only mortal, very wicked, but mortal.

The baby makes trouble, a lot of trouble and the hero has to fix it without upsetting the baby or destroying his ordinary life. Then the whole party ends up in hell.

This anime/manga is funnier than this dry description.

The Demon King chases his wife - the rebellious good for nothing miss

This is a funny romance with a delicious side of revenge and comeuppance. Two tricksters cross paths. Slowly and sadistically for all bystanders concerned, they fall in love. Schadenfreude.

The girl is a reincarnated soul whose ex - true love of her past life - killed her after betraying her. She vows to never be fooled again. She is reborn into the body of a waste of space, bullied victim and complete loser in life. But she won't let anyone treat her like that. Your greatest weapon of self defense is your attitude, whether you choose to fight or surrender to circumstances. Be active or passive in moments of danger.

The boy is the great Prince, heir to the throne. His brother may be Crown Prince but he's got more talent and everybody knows it. Until now, he had no ambition to rock the boat. Now he wants to make her his Queen and why not the Queen of this country as well?

Reincarnation with a twist. Adore it.

Prophecy of great calamity foretells his arrival into a new world. I love the camaraderie here, the bromance is flavorful. No irritating harem full of idiotic dolls. The sexy mentor is an out and proud lesbian. 

Dear Boy Manga

If you're stuck in a bad situation, your vision narrows down. Depressed by the misery, you feel alone and helpless. It is not wrong or shameful to ask for help. We all have our bad days and good days. Why not ask? You will be surprised by how willing people are to help you.

In our hearts, we all want someone to rescue us when we fall into trouble. So we rescue others in despair, in hopes they will rescue us when we need help. Round full circle.

SPOILERS -

This kid watches another kid get bullied. He's a bystander who does nothing to interfere until one day the victim is absent and the bullies begin picking on him. Together the two victims plot to fight back. Bolstered by the defeat of one minion, our guy confronts the big boss and gets mercilessly pummeled. The kid is faced with a future of servitude and he commits suicide.

His older brother swears revenge knowing that the courts and the school will do nothing because the murderers are juveniles. He intends to hunt them down and kill them all, one by one, with the help of his brother's friend and his home room teacher.

This is an extreme solution to an extreme problem. I think both sides are insane. TG this is fiction, right? I have never personally seen a situation this extreme but I know it exists somewhere in this world we live in. That is a frightening but true thought.

We are not animals, but we have wars. Nuclear weapons. We can think but we rarely use logic. We can feel, but we avoid feeling emotions that are inconvenient. There is much that is wrong with us as a species.

unOrdinary Manga

No title error, that's the original style.

In a world of super powered humans, he, John, has no powers of his own. Except for his cleverness, he is the 'cripple' in a world of able. No offense, the manga uses that word.

I don't feel that should stop anyone from living a good life in the real world, key word is living. As long as you are alive, you have the power to change, improve, expand, to simply exist. Once you are dead, nothing matters. Nothing can be done if you are dead.

His best friend Sera, has powers akin to Gods, he is surrounded by volatile children who have the ability to explode or burn or tear others down in an instant. He's a kid too, but without mad crazy insane abilities he has learnt to keep a cool head and think harder to escape a dangerous situation.

This is a world where everyone has superpowers of varying degrees, some unlucky few have none at all. But think about policing and controlling such a world, how difficult it must be, how much reign chaos would have over everything? Nasty.

Strength is everything and the weak are downtrodden and bullied. That is his daily routine until one day he catches Sera's eye.

In the shadows a terrorist organization named Embers is killing off superheroes. Well, do - gooders with powers, vigilantes. Utopia is an impossible dream even in a world of powers.

This is an interesting read and the action has not even started yet, try it out.

Happy if you died Manga

Creepy comedy, yes, that does exist as a genre.

SPOILERS -
This hot older hardworking boss has a problem, his attitude. He's one mean SOB and everyone hates him. But he's the boss so be careful. Our lady protagonist works under him and suffers on a daily basis, wishing on him his death ASAP. One day, that wish comes true and she wakes up in her bed, repeating the same day over and over again. Groundhog Day surprise with a gruesome twist.

After watching him die in a myriad of complex and crazy ways, she discovers the secret to her curse, his death and her wish for it. The day she wishes he were dead, with all her heart and particular wording of that wish, he dies and time reverses. Wishes.

The stuff she does with all that extra time on her hands, imagine if you could freeze time and live for an eternity? Of course it has it's limitations, she never will age cause she herself is also stuck in that moment. Plus, it leaves an impact on her boss, as he begins to recollect some very odd images and feelings. Very Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

Love the cute artwork and the strong story line.

Rogue Male

Was hopping around IMDB and I saw Benedict C was remaking this movie, so I checked it out.

Reads like a fantastic mix by Rudyard Kipling and Frederick Forsyth. I'm talking The Jackal here.

That's how you advance your acting career properly, don't only do romantic comedies or you'll get pigeon holed.

I'm watching Lucky Romance, but I dislike it terribly, only here for one actor and they have given him a too small role to shine in, grief. The main actor and actress are unlikable for me, pity does not mean love, and their romantic chemistry is ?. No sparks at all. Check out my T.V blog. 

SPOILERS - Rogue Male starts with a hunter and an abstract question, can I aim at the dictator with my rifle without getting caught, forget about actually pulling the trigger, is there a chance I can hunt the tiger without being eaten alive? Of course the dude has a backstory and he is seeking vengeance. But it is the aftermath of his failed attempt that truly pulls us into the story. Now a fugitive from all governments including his own,  ( cause it was an unsanctioned hit on the leader of a country, this is why we can't clean up certain existing monsters ) he decides to go to ground in his own hometown. Well, how long can you hide when the world is looking for you? Enough plot reveals, read this.

Author confirmed he was talking about Hitler, but the book was written without naming any people or places. Imagination is a gift. Use it.

There are two films from 1977 and 1941. 

I reincarnated into a vending machine

O.k, I like the strange and the unusual, but it has to have a certain charm, a level of quality.

This one, honestly I was expecting a dud, I mean, what can you do with a Vending machine? I got curious and tried reading it. Great surprise!

This is hella good plot. WIN.

SPOILERS - Vending machine fanatic dies in collision with vending machine, awakens in a game world where he is a magical vending machine. Keyword - magical.

The guy can change his shape and contents but he is no longer a guy, only a talking machine with a limited prerecorded vocabulary. All steel and scrap iron, no more flesh and blood. Plus, he can't move on his own. Ouch.

The Frog monsters attack him and he gets a gift of a protective barrier. But he needs coins to recharge or his machine body will shut down. Running out of time, he meets his first human customer. Of course he overprices but she buys it and loves it. Bingo, k-ching and the most powerful salesman /machine is born.

Say hello to danger, cause power is responsibility. A lot of people begin to eye his success as he is carried on her back from village to battlefield and earning profits all the way. Go-get-ter.

Waiting for more chapters, this plot is addictive, and no harem, finally. I find a lot of that genre and it gets to be nauseating when overdone. People are no longer individuals just hot horny bodies. Bore me.

Ban Lu Qin Jun

Short and sweet. Happy ending. I was expecting a tragedy and a love faded - leading to infidelity. This is very well written, clever plot.

This guy meets a girl pretending to be a boy at a school and falls in love. Under mysterious circumstances, she leaves him and he vows to never marry anyone but her. Four years later, after a flood of imposters, he receives her hair pin and finds her and her sister and their strange sick cousin. But the passion he had once felt for her seems to have cooled down with time and he begins to doubt her identity.

SPOILERS - Nope, this is slash and surprise!genderbending. The girl is a guy who lies saying he is a girl. What a twist on the Sungkyunkwan Scandal classic. WIN.

Rainbow Rowell Carry On

Odd mix of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.

Imagine if only the last book of HP was ever published and every page had a reference to the previous books that do not exist save in the author's mind.

You could have done more, your idea was clever but this is mostly derivative. I liked the potential here but you did not use it fully. This could have been super excellent as a series.

Baz reminds me of Draco Malfoy. This is reading like fan fiction the more pages I turn. Good, fun time pass.

SPOILER I knew it. I knew it. Slash, boys love, surprise. It felt like a Drarry fan fiction from the very start. The hero was more obsessed over his arch enemy than over his girl or over his female best friend. The ending is different and inspired. 

Chongfei manual

There is a difference between reincarnation and rebirth.

Reincarnation means you live one life and die and after start a second life in a different body. This can be a body in a different world or the same world but not the original body.

Rebirth means you live one life and die and after you wake again in that same life.  Maybe you are younger at a major turning point. Maybe you remember all your mistakes and swear to never repeat such foolishness again. Of course you have the advantage of foresight. Time travel for the soul.

This girl had a tough life and a nasty death. She wakes up again as her past self still a sweet kid in body but an ancient survivor in spirit. No one has any idea.

Never again will she lose her family and position and die alone and forgotten, a slow torturous ending. Her first step is to ensure that her stepmother's mask of goodness is shredded to strips, irreparable and unable to hide her darkly ugly heart.

In the past life the woman had tried to sell her off to slave traders and then strangled her in fury. Such a woman did not deserve the title of mother that an innocent naive six year old had called in despair.

Children do not understand the hearts of adults. This life time she will not allow her to succeed or to be parted from her father and twin brother.

She bites the wrist of Prince until her teeth leave a permanent scar. Still a child this prince who will be a great king takes offense and sends his bodyguard to bring her back. His bodyguard interrupts the kidnapping and returns her home. Plot successful.

Dear little girl with an old soul. You never crossed paths with the King before, so you have no idea what you just did. You caught his attention. Oops.

In the past life she had died really young so even her foresight is limited. I find myself voting for her to win and survive because her character is really well drawn. Read this.

Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang

A beautiful love story between a stone spirit and the God of War. This author surprises me by how a simple story can be twisted into so many convoluted plot tapestries.

May your plot bunnies be forever fertile. This has three lifetimes and for the GoW each lifetime has a trial to face and an interfering stone to mess the story line up.

He had no idea what he was in for when he said yes to her proposal of trying to seduce him. Underestimation leads to the collapse of Kingdoms. Troy, baby.

No Spoilers, here, cause I want you to read it for yourself. Good stuff, caught myself blinking away tears.

A tale of two phoenixes

Love this story. So different. Reverse harem.

Girl crosses worlds and is reincarnated as a princess. Now this princess said to her Emperor brother, we are born from the same royal father, why can I only have one husband and you can have so many concubines?
So the Emperor bestowed a male harem for his beloved sister.

This is the Princess whose body she takes over. Now our modern lady has to decide, enjoy all or enjoy one? So difficult a choice.

What fun. Pity only 6 chapters are translated. This has so much promise.

Your Highness, I know my wrongs

This is ridiculously hilarious! Reincarnation and gender bender!

This modern babe, moves to ancient times and gets a prophecy, ouch. Now prophecies are always bad luck, just ask Harry Potter and Demon King Daimao.

This prophecy says she must dress as a guy until she turns 18 or she will die. So she does. But her brother is super heartthrob: famous and popular and sexy. Everyone is awaiting her debut as Mr. Hottie. Even the emperor, who sends a marriage order when she comes of age, to wed the Crown Princess, most beloved of all his children.

But she's a girl and the emperor's words are law. Cross dress or die situation. You forgot the reincarnation deal? Well, she's a pervert and the palace is full of sexy beasts.

The ( female ) Prince Consort prefers men and is a hands on fondling groper. LOL. Did I mention her greed and bad habit of  kleptomania?

Otherworldly Evil Monarch light novel

Forgot to mention, if you don't like manga or anime, you can go to the original source (if available) which is light novels. They are novels with very few illustrations to highlight the major scenes. Basically novels. Personally I think it is rather arrogant to make such a distinction when the story remains the same. But whatever pleases you and lets you read in comfort. Read on until forever.

If you know me, you know I love to read and origin does not matter as long as quality exists. So translations are no problem for me, if the original source is good, the English version will be good because fans are loyal and hardworking. Love.

This reminds me of Fenglin Tianxia and Chaotic Sword god and Kill no more at the same time and the writing style is hilarious.

SPOILERS - Debauchee, like fiancee and debauchery! Damn, it's a real word. The male version, play boy, f slut. So this evil assassin dies in a foolish mistake (correction strange artifact mishap) and awakens in the body of the only living grandson of the great General , a kid who's a total waste of space, drunkard, womanizer, gambler. Jun Moxie is the new name and evil is his game

What happened to the real kid? He was the victim of assassins. That gives you an idea of the danger this evil assassin has just gained for himself. Another world with different rules and unknown dangers and powerful enemies and a whole family to give lectures and scoldings. Yeeouch.

His new family is on the brink of extinction. Because his Grandfather holds such a position of power, many people want to see the entire clan dead. Many of his family members have died in mysterious incidents, murders unsolved and no one is looking for the culprits. His third uncle, only surviving member of the second generation is permanently crippled and this was no accident.

Someone wants his new family dead and that includes the new body he lives in. Hell no. You want to kill me, be prepared to die first. This lone ranger decides to fight on behalf of himself and his family, damn the nation and the royal family.

Beautifully twisted plot. Love it, waiting for updates. Slight matter of racism from author but ignore it and read the story, cause it is good stuff.

The demoness is not evil

Very sweet and short romance. Like the romance here, which is rare and wonderful.

Heroine steals the show. Opinionated self confident strong in martial arts. Love her attitude and her mentor's wise sayings. In comparison, the hero's just a pretty face.

A flower attracts bees like shit attracts flies. Of course pretty boy has pretty female nuisances clinging to him and chasing him as he chases the heroine.

Heroine has a past and a mission, No Spoilers.

Jianghu world has a rapist terrorizing the powerful females and a war council has been summoned to deal with him. He gains power by stealing their martial arts.

Happy ending, so no fear. Read this.

Ti Shen light novel

My Opinion -Why some boys love stories are more interesting than some hetero romance. Must I draw a Venn diagram here to clarify that some is not all?
Cause if it is hetero we see only the girl perspective and she pines and mopes and longs and behaves helplessly. The boy is cold and heartless. This is classic hetero romance.
When both are boys the story explores themes of weakness and strength alongside complicated plotting and scheming with a dash of romance. WIN for story.

Who wants to read boring templates when you got fresh novelty and genius? I read a lot of crap in my youth and grew sick of it. Romance is dead. Try again.

SPOILERS - The two leads here are both evil and both aiming for the same guy. Add to that the identity confusion of a body double and his mysterious past.
This is one twisted story, secrets buried everywhere and monsters behind every smiling face. The charm of the romance is a hard won, difficult to earn, impossible to extinguish true love story. We value more the things we have to fight for because we consider them precious.

The don has a secret boyfriend, famous actor, they are childhood sweethearts. Shot thrice and clinging to life in a coma, the don fears someone will try to complete the job and kill his lover. He hires a body double to pretend to be his boyfriend in hopes that the target on his boyfriend's back will disappear. The don blames himself but his boyfriend was no innocent and he was deeply involved with a secret organization. On the last mission of the body double, he crossed paths with the leader of that secret organization and was cruelly tortured in the name of love and obsession, he had been pretending to be a rich young master but was caught unawares. Now the leader of that organization is trying to track the rich young master down, so the brother of the rich young master throws the body double to the wolves. In the midst of this all, feelings arise between the don and the body double.

Complicated plot full of twists and turns, edge of the seat gripped tight pacing. Wow stuff. Try it even if you are homophobic, the story is that good.

Whisper Manhwa

Collection of supernatural tales, but the first story is a complete heart breaker.

SPOILERS - This painter, talented and able to see the dead, wants to paint what he sees. His mom stops him and tells him to paint only what she wants him to paint. Now, before you decide what a b itch, she had a sister who saw and painted what she saw. The paintings drove her insane and forced her to take her own life. Realizing her son has the same curse, she forbids him to paint what he sees, until the day he tries to commit suicide because the spirits forced him. Out of desperation she throws all his painting supplies and blindfolds him, but both temporary measures fail. She dies in an accident after promising to help her son paint what he sees without losing his mind. He touches his easel and takes off his blindfold. His mother's spirit guards him as he paints what he sees.

Love. What would you do to protect the one you love? How far will you go? Madness.

Boku to Boku manga

Good old identity confusion.

Our society based gender roles are really messed up. Why must a girl be cute and a boy be manly? Why can't you just let people live as they please? No crime.

This is a really funny, but thought provoking manga. Who wants their kids to grow up insecure and uncertain of their place in the world? Who wants to drive their kids into contemplating suicide because they don't fit in?  As parents, don't you have the heart to love them as they are? Fight gender stereotyping. Human = humane.

I am ranting so I'll stop now. This is a light hearted comedy manga which is more full of crack than plot. I just got serious for a moment cause this topic is important.

Blade Note webtoon

Yup, obvious reference to Death Note but don't walk away because this is really good, gory.

The weight of the souls of the dead who demand justice. NIF, and that tugs at my heartstrings. If a heart was a bag or a puppet. Hmm. Metaphor smash crash.

This kid is the lone survivor of a massacre that killed 300 kids. A mass slaughter done by the Illuminati who rule the world with super powers. It was a party, done to have fun.

This world is rotten and already decaying. There is no justice. The rich and the powerful can do anything they want. And the 300 ghosts haunt the only kid still alive, whispering in his ears day and night. Until a block of metal arrives, which silences the voices.

The kid fashions a sword and shurikens out of the metal and goes to war. Alone but for his ghosts. Against a multinational organization of super powered rich people. The ultimate underdog.

Ouch, discontinued manga. Why do the good ones die first? So, the author fought with his artist, here.

 

Trinity Wonder Manhwa

We land at the last battle of a great war, the decisive end to a slow grown rivalry between two teenagers and their respective cults. WHAT? Sorry, the two leads remind me of Naruto and Sasuke and that resemblance itches. I think the author is a fan.

Ohh, the old trick, my left hand is not my dominant hand. Princess Bride, 5/5, if you have not seen it yet, do so right now. I command you to obey me. Of course, this is about martial arts and not swords.

Pity only one of them teleports to another world. An idiotic princess opens a star gate, ( love the movie but felt nada about the show, ) and pulls the hero, well, they call the other guy demon king, so I'm just going with the story flow.

The princess sees one anomaly appear and keeps the gate open for the second to enter. Two strangers from two different worlds step into a third world, foreign to both. CLAMP style crazy !

The gate is broken as the newcomers fight each other due to misunderstandings. The money sucking princess plans to learn their magic and buy back every piece that was destroyed. Until she cracks all their secrets, they will live with her, in her mansion. Joy, or despair in her future?

Wu Dong Qian Kun Manga

Very similar to Doulou Dalu in both art style and story content.

Game fantasy world, magical beasts and spiritual powers, a kid with a powerful grudge. His father was crippled and his clan treated their family like trash. Slowly he works out, exercises hard to improve his own fighting capabilities. With no outside elixirs or expensive medicines, his progress is slow and seems impossible. Until one day, he finds a mysterious stone.

Side note - Look up both xianxia and wuxia fiction. You won't regret it.

The stone drips a red fluid that acts like a powerful restorative and healing agent. It also has the ability to purify and refine raw materials. Plus it is sentient and a really good teacher of martial arts. Huh, too good to be true? Of course there is a price but sell your soul now and pay for it later.

Watch as our hero rises from strength to strength until his entire family stands on the brink of extinction because of his fame. He's not strong enough to face the strongest in the world. What next? Live, or die? Read and find out more.

Stitch in time? Threads of time manga

Yup, got the name wrong, but still remembered it, one hell of a manga, really twisted plot.

This kid, wakes up as his past self and things go war crazy. Being a modern kid, he needs training before he faces his powerful enemy.

Really like the idea of love being soul felt even through reincarnation. Even hatred can follow souls. A fantastic tale of redemption and understanding and acceptance. Worth the read.

Very similar to Shut Hell, and if you've read that manga and enjoyed it, you will like this one too.

Terror man manga

The human race is so ungrateful. You're a hero saving lives and they brand you terrorist.

Born with a psychic power, our hero is a timid, fearful mouse, never raises his voice or even looks you in the eye. He can tell what is a good choice to survive or to die painfully, just by the color of the air. This unassuming and powerfully gifted boy, begins his reign of terror by saving lives. Yup, you read it right, cause no one listens when he asks them quietly to evacuate, he uses threats and a bunny mask and a few real guns. Ouch.

Somewhere along the line, he really gets into his role, and he's a savior that the entire world loathes and seeks to hunt him down. Batman, the hero we need.

Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami

Wow, this manga! What a reverse in fate.

You know the typical enter game world scenario, become a hero style manga, this is not that type. Addicted gamer dies and wakes up in her favorite game, as the villain. OMG.

She enters this new world, in her hour of defeat, the hero has ditched her for the pretty simpleton and she strikes back with her only weapon left. Her farewell words.

She knows her fate from the game but she won't take it lying down. Real life is not fixed like the plot of a game. Time to turn the tables. Who says she can't be the heroine? Just pick another hero.

Gorgeous, gorgeous plot. I want more chapters, right now, please. This was like a sip of coffee in the midst of my yawn, surprise, delicious, very welcome wake up.

The little prince AND The miraculous journey of Edward Tulane

O.k, I'll admit it, I read these a long time ago, but they are perfect for kids and adults and I reread them because I wanted to feel the emotions captured in those words again.

There are some flavors you seek and some you forget. The words in these two books made me cry and I actually liked it. Meaningful and worthy. I'm not a fan of pain or sorrow, but sometimes beauty can be found in a rose's thorns.

Edward Tulane, I discovered him from You who came from the Stars, and I was hooked. Amazing story of a rabbit made of china, who travels the world and learns how to love and comes back home again. Kinda like the Hobbit, but less murder and war.

I don't believe in lying to kids about death. Or keeping them ignorant about sexual predators.

The little prince is a slightly convoluted story of an alien royal, who looks like a human kid. And he lives on a small planet with a rose. And you should read it, cause that description was awful. The story has emotional depth and a poetic explanation of death.

Fiction is damn interesting. This story is based in a world where the gender roles are reversed. A girl can catcall and judge a guy on looks because she is a girl. Replace girl and guy in above sentence and you get reality. Logic lacking life we live.

The guy is the homemaker. Dependent on the kindness of his mother, wife and daughter. Better to be beautiful in looks and obedient in nature. Knows how to cook and clean. Change diapers.

Lol? But not so funny because this is what the world expects of women, can you only see the stupidity when a guy puts on the role of caretaker and nothing more? Some forms of enslavement still exist today because society approves of them.

Point drop. Fascinating read. The girl is a bit flighty but ignore it. Colors are popping neon. And where are the rest of the chapters? Uploaders !

This is a reverse harem.

Chicken has OCD and what's the word for not wanting anyone to touch you. Germ phobic? Aversion to touch? There must be a medical term I'm not remembering right now. Plus he's human but she builds this metaphor for chicken being the meat she wants. I think that was an unintentional pun. He just tastes fantastic to her touch and she craves. Other guys start tasting bad to her.

Lol, forget the puns and read the manga. Vampire romance with a difference. Like.

Double Casting Manga

O.k, this is a weird one, like Ouroboros manga but with only one guy. Double role.

So, this mafia don boss guy is looking for his missing twin and swearing to do all that is right by him. Rich, luxurious no need to work life as a gift. They meet and moments later, the twin is dead. Not mafia's fault. Who is responsible?

The don loses his shit and sends out teams to look for info. Turns out, his twin was a police newbie recruit. WHAT? Maybe he found something that put his life in danger. Don decides to go undercover.

Pity he did not do adequate research. His twin was a total loser and all police looked down on him. He has to keep his cool amidst widespread mockery and still act like a helpless tool. Ouchie oww.

Lol, there are some ridiculous incidents in this manga, how long can you call something a coincidence or luck before you get suspicious of it occurring so frequently. Can't disguise true skill.

Shishunki Bitter Change

Heart breaking and brain melting, this manga.

A boy and a girl switch bodies. They keep trying to change back. They grow older and begin puberty. They make new friends and are confessed to and develop crushes. Throughout all their experiences, they retain their original sense of self, the boy is stuck in the girl's body, the girl is stuck in the boy's body. That's just the rough sketch.

The suffering, the acceptance, the falling in love with the wrong people, ah. Wrong, who defines it for us? Do we define it for ourselves or does someone define it for us? I'm a believer in live and let live. If it is consensual adults who f, who cares what gender or sex they are? Love comes to all who look for it, it's beautiful, let it thrive. Bless.

In this world where so many things are ugly and disgusting, love is beautiful. Life, we are alive, why must we kill the beautiful things, the things that make us feel alive?

And this is only the first few chapters, how she grows and changes, this story is full of plot and definitely passes the Bechdel test. Try it out yourself.

Fenglin Tianxia Descent of a phoenix

I think I mentioned this manga in passing on another post, but there was an update and I read it, and wow, this manga is really good. I read so many good ones and I completely forget to post them here. What a mistake.

Heroine kicks ass from page one. Love, love, love it. Reincarnated into a different world, the leader of the greatest assassin sect, is born again in the body of a weak, bullied and scarred body. Wait a second, aside from the disfiguring birth mark on her face, her body is covered in scars. In fact, the previous owner of that body just died from those wounds.

Whatever world she lives in, this lovely lady lets no one disrespect her. If you plan to kill me, be prepared for your own death. Love the attitude.

Freaknomics

O.k, this book, I was not expecting at all.

I was recently sick, new diet gone whack, and recovering at a friend's place. Strange place, hard to fall asleep, so I took a look at her bookshelf. What a shocking book.

I was looking for a snoozer, so boring you start snoring, but this kept me up thinking all night long. What if. Even if one sentence in this book is true, my world is altered forever.

I don't regret the lack of sleep, even though I felt awful immediately after. Some things are worth staying awake for.

What is morality but a human concept? Same with economics. No more SPOILERS, read it.

What's the opposite of a Fujoshi? This.

You know who I mean, the fan girl who likes Yaoi, boys love, even though she is completely unnecessary in such a relationship, she just likes to watch. Even if slash is non existent, she will create it in her mind and infect the world . Creepy undertone, play here.

Chaotic Sword God Light novel

Let me be clear, this is all about the fighting, no romance. One guy kills a lot of other guys and keeps killing. Unrepentant killer. Cruel world.

Of course, the story is not that dry as I have described above, but the fighting is the main feature. So if you don't like that kind of story, you can skip this. I like fighting stories, if they are done right.

And, wow, is this done right, no irritating females anywhere in sight. I'm not a misogynist, a lot of female characters in manga/anime are pretty much brain dead sex dolls. No joking. That lazy attitude towards your characters just ruins the whole story for me. Women are human beings. Human beings have rich, complex, intricate lives, even people you think of as dull and boring. Human beings are not animals. living on instincts. Human beings have thoughts .

Irritations aside, back to the topic. This is a light novel and many chapters have been translated already. Thank you, translators, this world would feel empty without your efforts. Loving this novel and completely cheering for the hero!

Reincarnated into a different world, our hero Jian Chen, fights his way through many fatal battles, slowly rising to the top, making more enemies than friends and killing everyone who stands in his way. Yup, this is an anti hero and he does not like it if you don't show him proper respect. He will kill you if you're rude. but not eat you.

Shet Note, replace e with i, in Shet. That is the story and Light Er is the protagonist. The antagonist is LOL. Pyuk, pronounced puke is a Shittygami.

I should hate this, but this is hilarious. ROFL.

Lucid Dream Manga

Small story, but what a shocker!

Manga about a guy who can transfer stuff he sees from the dream world to reality. One day, he hears about his classmate who drowned and then he sees her in his dream. What if he took her back with him? Would she be alive again?

Chongsa, or the Musketeers set in Korea. With katanas and ninja skills.

Thank you very much. This soothes the famine of starving muse so satisfyingly well. I really should not be here, cause I've a deadline. But... deadlines without inspiration is rice without dal. Tasteless.

Love the intro and the skillful display of conflicting ideals. The two heroes mistake each other for murderous pirates and duel, both impressed by each other's fighting prowess. Pity one is a strict judgmental tightie whitie. And the other reminds me of Gosu's rosy cheeked swordsman/assassin.

And then you meet the young Queen. Or King, interesting Gender switch there. And the hero with really flexible morals gets into another fight, threatening his chance to arrive in time for the entrance exam to join the Royal Musketeers. If you remember the original 3 Musketeers, D'Artagan gets challenged to three duels, even before he joins the Musketeers. And those three challengers were...

No more SPOILERS, cause I hate ruining the story for the readers. Go on, give this a try.

Dawn of the Dreadfuls / Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

I was going to post this much earlier, but my net was down.  Insults and Curses.

Love, love, love this book series. But then, I love the original Pride and Prejudice and a good shocking twist on it, really cheers me up.

Blood and gore, and the Bennet sisters, hunting for a husband, slaying many zombies along the way. Gorgeous, gorgeous plot. Read it in the order of the series for a better perspective on the universe.

Begin with Dawn of the Dreadfuls, with Oscar Bennet's quiet past as a ninja zombie slayer, member of a secret organization created to stop the Zombie Invasion, quickly coming into light after a funeral becomes a zombie awakening. Read on as first hottie ninja becomes the Bennet sisters' new training master in his dojo and second hottie becomes the new scientist for research on the undead plague.

Aargh, I'm not doing a good enough job on the description, but I advise you to read it, now. The above mentioned story is only the prequel, wait till Darcy steps into the picture. His aunt, in this universe, Lady Catherine DeBurgh is compared to Jeanne d'Arc. No joke. So, you can guess what he himself is like. Warrior gentleman.

And this book, is now a movie.  Don't be lazy and do both. Worth it, I swear.

Correction - the book is always better.

Baito Saki wa "Aku no Soshiki"?! Manga

Desperate for a way to support his adopted siblings, our main character takes a job as a minion of the evil organization Antares.

Being a henchman means fighting against the best heroes of the righteous Justice faction. Not a fun experience for a normal non powered human. But he really gets into the evil role when SPOILER he faces the great hero Sky Hawke who has just confessed to his sister. Crushes his balls with one foot.

Is our Main Character headed to the top, to be one of the great and villainous leaders of Antares? Only time will tell and this blogger has already given you a lot of hints.

Yes, please, give me more like this. Hilarious comedy.

Shah means king. Interesting foreshadowing.

Yup, another story about a bullied little girl, sweet, helpless, beautiful. She tolerates it all, her evil step brothers's schemes and plots, her cruel step mother's undying hatred, she suffers and endures until one day, they push her too far.

Love it when the tables are turned, even a dying rat will bite a cat in desperation. Now if that fang was full of poison, ah, how beautiful revenge would be.
